Cut
refers to the angles and proportions a skilled cutter
creates while fashioning a rough diamond into a polished
diamond. Based on scientific facts, a well-cut diamond
will reflect light from one mirror-like facet to another
and reflect it through the top of the stone. This is
what creates the brilliance and fire of a diamond.
Diamonds
that are cut too shallow or too deeply lose light through
the sides and bottom making that stone less brilliant
and have less value.
